That the maker states the sledge has been tested and carries the GS mark. This site reports the claim and attributes it; it does not confirm or deny a test, here or anywhere.
The listing says the runners carry metal rails along their full length and the fittings are powder-coated, and that assembly and folding are quick. Nothing is published about the life of the hinge, which is the part a folding design adds.
It is offered as an option and fitted with screw clamps, without tools and without permanent changes to the wood. For a small child riding in front of an adult, it is the difference between one run and ten.
